Structural Integration/Rolfing
90 min. only

Ready to make drastic changes in the way you feel and move in your everyday life? Tired of feeling like you have to remind yourself to sit up straight instead of slumping over? Do you have chronic pain that you just can’t seem to shake? Then Structural Integration is for you. Choose from doing sessions 1-3 -or- the full 10 session series. We begin by seeing the way you hold your body by having you standing and walking in your gym shorts and/or bathing suit/sports bra. Then we begin with hands on connection into your body and with you subtly moving to give us body awareness. This is a series of techniques focusing on connective tissue imbalances and faulty movement patterns, giving the body a new awareness of how to move free of pain and impairment. Using the ten-session series created by Dr. Ida Rolf, there is client movement training, and hands on application. This is an active session with participation by the client and guided by the bodyworker. The client is guided toward a thorough reorganization of the bodys relation to gravity (structural integration) with movement, conversation, and touch. This work is profound, specific, deep, and no oils or lotion are used. Please don’t apply lotion, body oil, or any thing that is oil based prior to our session.

Myofascial Release
Deep Tissue Sculpting

This is a s-l-o-w method of bodywork that gently stretches and expands connective tissue to provide deep relief to chronically held muscles and fascia (aka connective tissue). Using a series of deep compressions, pressure is slowly increased as the muscle tissue relaxes and invites the therapist's hands deeper into the tissue. This work can help release chronic pain and muscle tension. Unlike a deeper circulatory massage, which encompasses the entire body; Deep Tissue Sculpting sessions target only one or two areas of the body for which the client asks to have addressed. This work is performed directly on the skin without the use of oil or lotion.

NeuroKinetic Therapy {NKT}

NeuroKinetic Therapy corrective movement system is a sophisticated bodywork modality that can be used as both an assessment and rehabilitative technique for low back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel, and other injuries. The NeuroKinetic Therapy corrective movement system protocol employs a system of precise muscle tests has the ability to change the programming of the Motor Control Center (MCC) in the cerebellum. The MCC coordinates all movement patterns in the body. It learns through failure. When an NeuroKinetic Therapy corrective movement system practitioner tests the weak anterior neck muscles, they fail thus opening the MCC to new learning. After the balance is restored, the MCC is “reprogrammed” and recognizes the anterior neck muscles. To complete the reprogramming, specific rehab exercises are assigned to “burn in” the new functional pattern.

Relational Somatics

We have all experienced varying degrees of trauma in our lives that continues to be held in our bodies, primarily in our connective tissue (fascia). These sessions focus on establishing a path of communication between the bodyworker and client, in order to release pain and trauma from the physical and emotional body.  Through connective tissue (fascia) "shake shake", literally lifting the fascia and shaking out the trauma from the tissue. Our desire to be heard and tell our stories helps to release our trauma. Through each customized session we journey together to release trauma through touch, dialogue, movement, and artistic expression.

Hot + Cold Stone Therapy

This is an application using hot and cold stones. Combining hot (thermotherapy) stones and cold (cryotherapy) stones generates stimulation of blood flow, by drawing blood into a painful area with heat (vasodilation), and driving out the blood with cold (vasoconstriction). Heat calms muscles and joints and cold drives out inflammation. This treatment promotes circulation, massaging and alternating the hot and cool stones helps every cell in the body to receive more oxygen and moves lymph, encouraging a more effective removal of toxins, bringing deep relaxation and pain relief.

Using support pillows, side lying work is done to promote deep rest and physical release of tension. Slow and mindful breathing for pregnant women and their babies is incorporated. Revitalize the body by increasing circulation to the organs and calm the nervous system through breath and touch.
